Ashish Mahendru, founding partner of the boutique commercial litigation firm Mahendru P.C., was recently invited to serve as a guest panelist at the Consulate General of India, Houston by the organization’s leadership and by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH).
Mr. Mahendru’s presentation addressed multiple topics, including:
- Cross-border trade disputes
- How to manage and minimize the litigation risk
- Which dispute resolution agreements to consider in the event of a lawsuit or other litigation
- How to manage the litigation, preserve evidence, and develop appropriate but targeted outcome-oriented maneuvers to end the case as quickly as possible.
Several days later, Mr. Mahendru was invited by the IACCGH to be a guest on the “Open Forum IACCGH Business Hour” radio program on 103.5 Hum FM in Houston. The hour-long interview touched on a wide variety of issues, ranging from the current political environment and the increased risks for lawyers to immigration, litigation, and business disputes.
“I enjoy discussing these kinds of topics with any audience, but it is great to be invited to do that in my hometown,” said Mr. Mahendru. “I have had a great relationship with the IACCGH and the Consulate General, so I look forward to sharing my experiences and my expertise with them whenever I get the opportunity.”
The IACCGH was founded in 1999 by a group of local Indo-American businessmen and professionals to address an increasing need to educate local businesses and the Indo-American community at large about the India ‘Advantage’ and doing business with India. Since then, it has evolved into a vehicle of economic empowerment for local businesses, educating and enabling minority business owners to understand and benefit from programs targeted at small and medium enterprises. It also provides business access to the local Indo-American community and the largest emerging middle-class market in the world – India. The chamber focuses on local jobs by encouraging exports to India and on bilateral trading opportunities.
